A four-part worship series called “Read That Again: Church History You Didn’t Learn in Sunday School” will conclude on Sunday, February 22, 2026, as we turn our attention to the influence of African American leaders in the Methodist tradition. The final message in the series, “Woe to Religion,” is rooted in Matthew 23:23-28 and features the story of Bishop James S. Thomas, a prophetic voice in the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Contemporary worship will take place in person and online through the Morning Star app and website (mstarlc.church) at 9:15 AM, and traditional worship will take place in person at 11:15 AM.

Valentine's Day Weddings
Beloved,
Thank you for your part in making the free Valentine’s Day weddings a success again this year. Seven couples began their married lives together with us on Saturday, and four more said, “I do,” all over again. What a beautiful gift it is to celebrate love and hope with our neighbors!
I’m grateful for every person who had any part in making this day happen. To those who loaded supplies and drove them to the Plaza and back again, thank you. To those who set up tables and canopies and equipment, thank you. To those who officiated, thank you. To those who assisted the couples and the officiants, thank you. To those who registered the couples, gave them flowers, helped them sign their marriage licenses and celebrated them with cider and cookies, thank you. To those who took photos and ran sound and played music, thank you. To those who cheered loudly from the back, thank you. To those who prayed for the event, thank you.
Every person made a difference in every moment, and I’m so grateful for you. Because of you at least 75 couples have turned to Morning Star to say “I do” and “I still do” during the past five years. Thanks be to God, and thank you!
