Prayer for September 13, 2026
Gracious and Loving God:
Today we remember September 11, 2001,
the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the countless people who stepped toward those who were suffering.
We remember those who ran toward the places of greatest need and those who stayed beside someone who was hurting.
On a day when we remember what it means to be present in the midst of suffering,
remind us that this, too, is part of what it means to follow you.
Sometimes faith looks like sitting at your feet and receiving your presence.
Sometimes it looks like getting up and serving, responding to what love requires.
Give us the wisdom to know what this moment asks of us,
and the courage to be present, fully present, with you and with one another.
Amen.
